The Missouri Style Guide to Rustic Weddings in 2017
Rustic barn weddings have become one of the most popular wedding styles for several reasons. In addition to having a sentimental and personal feel, the rustic wedding style is easily adapted to reflect both the bride and groom’s personalities with both feminine and masculine qualities at the same time.
Cedar Creek Center recently produced an infographic illustrating several trends that make the perfect barn wedding. Feel free to download, learn and share with your friends as a conversation piece. Also, see below for some informational tidbits.
For the perfect barn wedding dress, think vintage-style lace with fluttery sleeves, appliqué details, or flowy chiffon in soft hues like blush, ivory or blue grey. Look for a fit that’s simple and comfortable yet feminine.
For a rustic feel, choose natural, earthy décor that exudes laid-back elegance. Top tables with linen tablecloths or burlap runners and wildflower-filled Mason Jars tied with twine. For an added rustic touch, consider decorating chair backs with burlap and lace bows. Work in other natural details like branches, twigs or leaves.
Display your menu creatively on a hand-painted wooden sign or chalkboard. Keep cold beverages in vintage aluminum washtubs or serve sweet tea in recycled bottles. Choose a simple cake decorated with wildflowers, berries or twigs.
Picture all of these details set against the backdrop of an incredible, vintage-looking barn for breathtaking photos. Our barn allows you to completely customize your wedding experience, providing a blank canvas for all of the special touches that inspire you and bring your special day to life. While many barn weddings come with logistical issues, like a lack of restrooms, our beautiful, newly built barn gives you the rustic feel without compromising on the modern luxuries your guests expect.
And don’t forget a sparkler sendoff for the perfect close to an evening under the stars.
